An Undecimated Wavelet Transform Based Detector Fortransients In

چکیده
We consider the detection in the presence of 1=f noise of a known transient signal of unknown amplitude, scale and delay. We introduce a generalized likelihood ratio test (GLRT) method based on pattern matching in the undec-imated discrete wavelet transform (UDWT) domain. In many cases, the computational complexity of the detector can be reduced with minimal performance impact by limiting the pattern matching operations to locations in the UDWT domain that correspond to the existence of transform local maxima. As examples of our approach, we simulate the detection of transients that are modeled either by scaling functions, Gaussian functions, or two-sided exponential functions.

Undecimated wavelet transforms for image de-noising
A few different approaches exist for computing undecimated wavelet transform. In this work we construct three undecimated schemes and evaluate their performance for image noise reduction. We use standard wavelet based de-noising techniques and compare the performance of our algorithms with the original undecimated wavelet transform, as well as with the decimated wavelet transform. The experimen...

With progress in radar systems, a number of methods have been developed for signal processing and detection in radars. A number of modern radar signal processing methods use time-frequency transforms, especially the wavelet transform (WT) which is a well-known linear transform. The interference canceling is one of the most important applications of the wavelet transform. In Ad-hoc detection met...

Received Nov 11, 2017 Revised Jan 15, 2018 Accepted Feb 1, 2018 License Plate Recognition (LPR) is the mission of identifying the vehicle using number plate extraction. An efficient method for recognizing plate based on Undecimated Wavelet Transform (UWT) is proposed. Plates are recognized using features from undecimated coefficients in this system. Morphological edge detection technique is use...

متن کاملEnergy Detection Based on Undecimated Discrete Wavelet Transform and Its Application in Magnetic Anomaly Detection
Magnetic anomaly detection (MAD) is a passive approach for detection of a ferromagnetic target, and its performance is often limited by external noises. In consideration of one major noise source is the fractal noise (or called 1/f noise) with a power spectral density of 1/fa (0<a<2), which is non-stationary, self-similarity and long-range correlation. Meanwhile the orthonormal wavelet decompos...
